So my kid has NEVER had a problem with food. EVER. He eats leaves and wood and dead bugs and anything really. About 2 weeks ago, he started feeling a little under the weather. As a result, he didn't have a big appetite. Well, I figured once he felt better his anxious, nervous-like desire for any and all food would return. Not so much. He has decided he doesn't like vegetables anymore. It has become almost a war between us. So the other night, he kept spitting out the green beans. Finally he wouldn't even open his mouth. His lips weren't even visible they were so tightly glued together. I put the green beans on his tray and started doing the dishes all the while thinking to myself, "he'll give in and I will look back and they'll be gone..." Well, a few did disappear and then I realized he was feeding them to Rosco when I wasn't look. After mommy spoiled that plan, the tears began to fall. Of course, it was an opportune time for pictures because let's face it, it's funny. Then Daddy walks in................................ Awwwwww. You can see the halo gleaming on top of his head or at least Jacob does. And like always, Daddy makes whatever mean ol' mommy is doing so much better. Paul reaches into the refrigerator and out comes the ketchup. I swear you could hear the trumpets sounding throughout the whole house. Jacob's pitiful cry becomes nervous laughter because Daddy will slather food in chocolate if he has to to get him to eat it. So green beans and ketchup, carrots and ketchup, peas and ketchup, you get the idea. He refuses to eat vegetables without ketchup now.
